Ken Kimani is an accomplished service industry professional with over 25 years of experience in diverse leadership roles in hospitality, travel, commercial security, facilities management, and conservation. He has a progressive record of achievement in key management and operational areas in the service sector. He is currently the Chief Commercial Officer at the 90,000 acres Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
This is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East & Central Africa and home to two of the world’s last remaining northern white rhinos. He is leading the organization towards the realization of its commercial objectives, with a view to maximizing organizational profitability to support the resourcing of the conservation and community development objectives of OPC, while maximizing agribusiness and tourism volumes within sustainable ecological limits.
Ken has also worked with Serena Lodges and Hotels, Sarova Hotels, KK Security, Hurricane Global Facilities Management, and KK Facilities Management as a director, among many other organizations. He has directed large teams all across the country, achieving significant growth by seizing opportunities with a good understanding of financial models. He helped set up Facilities Management business units in Uganda and Tanzania for KK Security.
Ken serves as a board member and shareholder at Ruona Holdings a firm with extensive interests in transport, real estate and agribusiness. He has also served in the board at Mavuno Church which oversaw the relocation of the congregation to Athi River in Mavoko from South C in Nairobi. A graduate of USIU-Africa in Hospitality management, Ken holds an MBA in Marketing and Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi. He is an Alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School, Executive Education – 2018 cohort that covered “Adaptive Leadership for Africa: Chaos, Complexity and Courage” and “The Voice of Leadership”.
